Everything you need to get started - installing, account setup, signing in, ranked matchmaking, skins, and friends.

Install

Check our downloads channel and get our installer there. Use that to install the correct files — please don't download it from anyone else. Our app will always be the trusted source.

You'll also need Counter-Strike: Global Offensive added to your Steam library first. You don't need to install it - just having it in your library is enough, there's nothing else to do with it.

The default install location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Continued Strike. You can customize this in our installer if you'd rather install it elsewhere.

Setting Up Your Account

Open Continued Strike and go to the sign-up section. From there, enter the invitation code you were sent when you were accepted, and complete the process.

Rank Skill Rating Distribution

Every player starts at a base score of 1000. Placement matches are calculated at a 1.5x ELO multiplier, to help get you into the correct rank faster.

Installer Errors

The most common error people run into is exit code 2, which usually means you're out of disk space. The installer uses both your OS drive and the drive you're installing to for temporary files during extraction, so each one needs at least 60GB free - not just the drive you're installing to. If you check your installer logs, you may see [Errno 28] No space left on device confirming this.

The other common cause is antivirus software scanning or locking the files as they're extracted - nothing can touch them mid-extraction. Turn your antivirus off before installing, then add the Continued Strike folder as a trusted/excluded folder afterward.

We know asking you to disable antivirus can feel uneasy. We're not CSR, and we have no interest in RATing you - this project exists so the community has something to keep building on and actually improving, instead of watching it go stale like everything else. Enjoy.

Getting Started (Website)

Continued Strike uses Steam for sign-in — click Login/Register and continue with your Steam account. We only ever receive your Steam ID, display name, and profile picture; we never see or store your password.

Continued Strike is live, but access is still invite-only while we scale up. If you sign in and aren't whitelisted yet, request access in Discord — that's the fastest way in.

Understanding Ranked & ELO

Ranked matches are 5v5 on a skill-based ELO ladder — win to climb, lose and you'll drop. You'll be matched against players near your current rank, so the matchmaking should stay close as you climb.

Your K/D, win rate, and rank are tracked automatically after every match — no need to self-report anything. Check the Leaderboard to see where you stand against everyone else, or your Profile's Match History tab for the breakdown of your own recent games, map by map.

Skins Database & Inventory

Every skin in your inventory is searchable in the Skins Database by exact float, pattern, and StatTrak™ — it's the same live data the desktop client uses, not a separate copy that can drift out of sync.

Skins can already be traded between players in the Continued Strike client. A trade history and community marketplace here on the website are still on the roadmap.

Friends & Live Chat

Add friends straight from Steam and message them in real time from the Friends and Chat pages — it's synced with the desktop app, so the same friends list and conversations work everywhere you're signed in.
